Woman, being made from man's rib, was not made out of his head to top him, not out of his feet to be trampled upon by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be beloved.
Genesis 2:2424 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
Marriage is a conscious choice and becomes a priority, above that of parents. The word leaves, is "cleaves" in old words, suggests a covenant, a permanent commitment that is not just a legal contract but one that is backed with passion and love. Marriage is the unity of two individuals, not just physically, but also emotionally. It's about "us".
I think having a good christian marriage makes this much of a difference. An understanding of the roles in life, a choice to be together and lastly a commitment to each other. But the funny thing is, I actually can imagine a life like that with you. I want to share my faith with you because I know that you'll fit in. You'll understand the substance over the form of routine and you would take to this faith. If you think that I know you, then I know that you would love the faith that I have. Because it is already what you're practising. The social contraints are kiling me.
